Cuyabeno Reserve Tour in 3 Days/2 Nights


The Cuyabeno Reserve is a natural treasure located in the Amazon region of Ecuador. a protected area that is home to incredible biodiversity, offering a unique experience, home to thousands of species of plants, giant trees, colorful orchids, and endemic animals from howler monkeys and capuchin monkeys to pink dolphins and alligators.

Day 1 –  Arrival at Cuyabeno Reserve

For the trip to Cuyabeno we have several travel options that will best suit your needs and your budget.
  • Day 1 - Entrance to Cuyabeno Reserve

    We will meet in Lago Agrio between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, where we will take transportation to the entrance of the Cuyabeno Reserve.
    At this point, visitors must register at the Reserve office where we will have a brief talk with our naturalist guide who will provide them with information about the Cuyabeno Reserve, important recommendations to begin the canoe trip to the Lodge.
    During the canoe trip you will be able to enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna found in the jungle and see some species of monkeys, birds and other jungle animals. We will arrive at the Lodge for lunch. At that time, rooms will be assigned and you can relax, in the afternoon we will go canoeing to explore the Flooded Jungle and see sloth bears, pink dolphins and more.
    We will take a tour of the Laguna Grande where we will see the wonderful sunset and swim. Finally we will return to the camp for dinner.

  • Day 2 - Ecological Paddle Canoeing

    At 8:00 am we will take paddle canoes and head to the Caimancocha trail. We will take a walk in the primary forest for approximately 3 hours. On this trail the ecology of the Amazon rainforest, medicinal plants, and the diversity of animals will be explained. At 1:30 p.m. we will return to the lodge to have lunch and take a rest in the hammocks or rooms. At 4:30 p.m. we will take a catamaran tour, calmly to relax and observe animals. We will have a night walk to see arachnids, amphibians and hopefully nocturnal reptiles and to finish we will enjoy a special dinner with our guide, where we will share our experiences in the jungle.

  • Day 3 - Return to Quito

    On this day we will wake up very early to take a tour and observe the sunrise accompanied by a great variety of birds. After this we will have breakfast and go to the hotel to get ready and prepare our things for the return to the Cuyabeno Bridge where we will have a small Box Lunch and then you will be picked up by a bus that will take you to Lago Agrio so you can return to Quito either by bus or plane.
